The magazine iAgua interviews Moisés Canle, dean of the Faculty of Sciences of the UDC and researcher of the group REACT! to inaugurate the cycle "El Agua es Ciencia", whose purpose will be to make visible the challenges faced by the water sector.
According to the researcher, <<we are facing the enormous technological challenge of continuing to provide adequate quality water despite the unfortunate treatment that we, as a society, give to the water environment>>. In order to tackle the problems we are facing, we will need <<different perspectives, solutions and regulations, with a high level of collective awareness>>.
Moisés states that <<the research carried out in Spain is of a very high level, as are the Spanish researchers>>, however, there are other problems that prevent the development of the same, such as <excessive bureaucratization or the non-optimal use of funding>>.
Among the strongest tools we have, the researcher highlights the popularization of scientific outreach as an essential resource, since by <<knowing the problems, needs and opportunities, we encourage the attempt to contribute to the field>>.
