The Xunta de Galicia finances the contracts of 6 young researchers at CICA

The Regional Ministry of Culture, Education and University has made public in recent weeks the resolution of the three categories of grants for SUG universities, Galician public research organizations and other entities of the Galician R+D+i system. Each of these is aimed at a different research stage: new predoctoral researchers, postdoctoral researchers and researchers who need to extend their postdoctoral period.

Adding the three categories together, CICA has obtained a total of 6 grants distributed as follows:

In the predoctoral category, of the thirteen grants awarded to the UDC, two were obtained by Charlene María Harriswangler and Inés Obregón from the REACT! and QUIMOLMAT groups. These grants finance the training of researchers to obtain the title of doctor and the acquisition of skills and abilities related to research.

In the postdoctoral category we have obtained 2 of the seven UDC grants. Since July 1 we have the researchers, Arturo Blanco and María Cristina Piñeiro, respectively in the groups QUIMOLMAT and BIOCOST. These grants are aimed at hiring recently graduated doctors to broaden their training, as well as to improve their skills by carrying out stays abroad.

Finally, we have obtained 2 grants to complete the postdoctoral stage of the 3 obtained by the UDC. The awarded researchers are Juan Manuel Bermúdez from QUIMOLMAT and Juan Fafián from TCMR. The aim of these grants is to help researchers to complete their postdoctoral project and to facilitate the establishment of their own line of research in order to consolidate their career in the future.
