The first call for the "Epifanio Campo Awards", organised by the Chair of the same name, has awarded the first prize to a project led by the researcher Moisés Canle and his team at CICA, belonging to the REACT! Group of the UDC. The project entitled "Sustainable technology for the reduction of emerging pollutants for the circular economy of water" will receive 6000 euros to continue developing methodologies for the reuse of natural water for common uses such as irrigation or cooling systems.
The second prize has been awarded to researchers from the CIT and the EnQA Group of the UDC, some of whom also belong to the CICA. This project, entitled "Conductive composites for 3D printing based on lignin and low environmental impact plastics" will receive 4000 euros to continue their research.
The Epifanio Campo Chair was inaugurated at the end of 2019 with the aim of safeguarding the legacy of the entrepreneur and continuing with its mission: to disseminate the recovery and valorisation of industrial waste and to favour a circular economy system.
